FAQ

More Information About YTP

1. How much does it cost to offer a Y.O.U.T.H Training Project (YTP) half or full day training program?

The cost of YTP training depends on the location, number of participants, and length of program. Some training programs are funded via state grants, while others are fee-for-service and customized.  To discuss your needs, send us an email or call 415-442-5060.

2. How do we request training?

Send us an email or call 415-442-5060 so we can discuss your training needs.

3. Do you have trainers in our area?

We recruit and train trainers from all over the state, so we are likely to have a trainer in your area.

4. How old are the trainers?

All trainers are between 16 and 21. They have gone through our intensive Leadership Institute, which prepares youth trainers to develop and facilitate the training.

5. What should we supply as hosts of the training?

You will need to supply the following:

  • An appropriate room for the training

  • Recruitment of child welfare professionals in your area to attend the training
  • Sound equipment and set-up
  • Lunch and/or snacks, if possible

We strongly encourage you to provide a meal or snacks. Food enhances the learning experience and provides opportunities to make causal connections with other participants. Please discuss this with us when we finalize arrangements for the training.

7. Do we need to provide a staff coordinator on the day of the training?

Yes. You will need to provide a coordinator to serve as YTP’s point of contact and to handle logistics.

8. Can we videotape the training?

We do not provide videotaping as a service but if you ask, our trainers and they feel comfortable, you may make your own videotape of the training.

9. Can we request specialized curriculum?

Whenever possible we try to respond to specific county and organizational needs, but our ability to do so will depend on the budget for the specific training event.
